1. Data Protection at a Glance

General Notes

The following notes provide a simple overview of what happens to your personal data when you visit this website. Personal data comprises all data with which you can be personally identified.

Data Collection on this Website

  • Who is responsible? Data processing on this website is carried out by the website operator (Sole Proprietor Tamir Neffgen).
  • How do we collect data? Primarily, we collect data that you provide to us (e.g., during registration or by importing your library). Other data is collected automatically by our IT systems when you visit the website (e.g., technical log data).
  • What do we use the data for? To ensure the error-free provision of the Service (management of your audiobooks).

2. Hosting & External Content

Hosting at Netcup

We host our application on virtual servers (VPS) provided by netcup GmbH (Daimlerstraße 25, 76185 Karlsruhe, Germany). The personal data collected on this website is stored on Netcup's servers. This may include, in particular, IP addresses, meta and communication data, website access details, and other data generated via a website. The use of Netcup is for the purpose of fulfilling the contract with our potential and existing customers (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR) and in the interest of a secure, fast, and efficient provision of our online offer by a professional provider (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).

External Cover Images (Hotlinking)

To save storage space and always display the most up-to-date book covers, the cover images in your library are not stored on our servers but are loaded directly into your browser from the servers of the respective providers (e.g., Audible, Amazon, publishers) ("Hotlinking").

Through this technical integration, your IP address is transmitted to the image provider's server when a cover is displayed, just as if you were visiting their website. This is done on the basis of our legitimate interest in a storage-efficient and up-to-date presentation of content (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).

4. Data Collection & Services

Cookies & LocalStorage

Our website uses so-called "Cookies" or the browser's local storage technology ("LocalStorage"). We use only technically necessary storage required for the operation of the site (e.g., to save your login status or maintain your language setting). The legal basis for this storage is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in technical functionality). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Registration & Google Auth

You can register on our website. As an alternative to classic registration, we offer login via Google (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland).

If you use Google Login, you will be redirected to Google. After successful login, Google automatically transmits your email address and your name (according to your settings there) to us so that we can create a user account for you. No cross-referencing with other data takes place. The use of Google Login is based on your consent or for the fulfillment of the contract (Art. 6 (1) (a)/(b) GDPR).

Processing of Library Data (Import)

When you use functions to import book data (e.g., by pasting a link), our server processes this link to retrieve metadata (title, author, duration) from the target page and save it in your account. This data processing serves exclusively to provide the functionality requested by you (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR).

5. Analysis Tools and AI

Google Gemini AI

This website uses functions of the artificial intelligence "Gemini" from Google. If you use the "AI Curator" function, pseudonymized data from your library (e.g., title, author, genre, your ratings) is transmitted to Google's API to generate book recommendations. Google uses this data in accordance with their privacy policy. We do not transmit any directly identifying data such as your email address or your real name to the AI interface.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to free information about your stored personal data at any time. You also have the right to request the rectification or deletion of this data. You can delete your account and all associated data independently at any time in the profile settings.

Furthermore, you have a right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority.
